Cleaning & Organizing • April 3, 2023

We frequently have guests here at “Hotel Hill.”

We love having company, but of course when anything happens last minute, things can get hectic!

And with frequent fellowships, family, and some of our employees dropping in here and there – it happens quiiiite frequently. I love it when my house is super clean, but that is not a very common occurrence with two kids running around. That’s why I put together some tips for how to clean your home quickly when time is of the essence.

  1. Declutter: Before you start cleaning, take a few minutes to pick up any clutter around your home. This can include toys, shoes, books, and other items that may be out of place. By decluttering your space, you can make it look tidier and more organized in a matter of minutes.
  2. Dust surfaces: Grab a microfiber cloth or duster and quickly dust any visible surfaces in your home. This can include coffee tables, bookshelves, and picture frames. By removing any dust or dirt, you can make your home look cleaner and more inviting.
  3. Vacuum or sweep floors: If you have hardwood or tile floors, grab a broom or mop and quickly sweep or mop the floors. If you have carpet, run a vacuum over high-traffic areas to pick up any dirt or debris.
  4. Clean the bathroom: If you only have time to clean one room, make it the bathroom. Wipe down the sink, toilet, and mirror with a disinfectant wipe or cleaner. Quickly scrub the inside of the toilet bowl with a toilet brush, and add a fresh hand towel to the rack.
  5. Freshen up the kitchen: If your guests will be spending time in your kitchen, take a few minutes to wipe down the countertops and appliances. Run a quick load of dishes through the dishwasher or hand wash any dishes that are in the sink. Add a fresh dish towel and hand soap to the sink area for a nice touch.
  6. Light candles or spray air freshener: If you have a few extra minutes, light some candles or spray some air freshener to add a pleasant scent to your home. This can help create a warm and inviting atmosphere for your guests.

Remember, the key to quick cleaning is to focus on high-traffic areas and visible surfaces. You don’t need to deep clean your entire home to make it presentable for guests. With these quick and easy cleaning ideas, you can get your home guest-ready in no time.

So the next time you have unexpected guests or are in time-crunch to clean, don’t panic! Just take a deep breath, grab your cleaning supplies, and follow these quick and easy cleaning tips. With a little bit of effort, you can make your home look and feel clean and inviting, even at a moment’s notice.

Hope it is a help to all of you homemakers and busy Mommas! Happy cleaning!
